HTC’s new charger fills up your HTC One M8 battery 40% faster


Motorola was among the first to take advantage of Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology that can add hours of runtime to a phone battery in as little as 15 minutes. And now Engadget reports that HTC is following suit with an accessory that can recharge your HTC One M8 battery 40 percent faster than the stock charger.

HTC Rapid Charger

Dubbed the HTC Rapid Charger 2.0, the 15 Watt USB power pack doesn’t yet have a release date nor a price yet, although I’d anticipate it to be available soon for between $30 and $40. I’m basing the price estimate on the Motorola Turbo Charger, which retails for $35 and is included with the [company]Google[/company] Nexus 6 and Droid Turbo handsets, plus works with the new Moto X.
