As part of all the new delicious Harry Potter treats being revealed for Christmas on Pottermore, J. K. Rowling has revealed that there is only one death she feels any regret over – and it’s someone you may not even remember: owner of Diagon Alley’s ice-cream parlour, Florean Fortesque.

Of course, there are many deaths littered throughout the seven books and eight films from which we are still recovering.

10. Cedric Diggory

Cedric Diggory’s death was a massive turning point in the Harry Potter stories, namely because it was such a brilliantly horrific way for the newly formed Voldermort (yes, I dared to say it) to make an appearance.

Cedric was such a good, decent person and his death was so sudden and without warning.
