Since moving into my new home last August I’ve learned a lot about harmony. My housemate/landlord is Paul Kwitek, a retired Intel employee which is where I first met him. We both retired the same day, August 01, 2010, when Intel decided to close down their Ronler Acres Fab in Hillsboro, Oregon. They gave us 18 months advanced notice that they planned on shutting down the older fab in favor of a new one making the same product line faster that we could produce it. Keep in mind there were 4 other fabs using the same old process making the same exact chipsets. They were stand alone operations not close to other Intel facilities. Here in Oregon we are surrounded by other fabs that could absorb a lot of our 900 plus employees. So, Intel in its constant striving to do the least damage to their employees chose our plant…
